Loraine Smith On Monday, April 29, Loraine Smith passed away peacefully at home after a long illness in the accompaniment of her devout husband and best friend.

She was born in Wynantskill to Kenneth F. and Helen Kornetzi, Sr. She was a graduate of Averill Park High School. She was a registered nurse and graduate of Columbia Memorial School of Nursing. She is predeceased by her parents and brother Kenneth, Jr.

Loraine is survived by her husband of 70 years Arthur G. Smith of Kinderhook, NY and her loving and devoted children Sandra and Ronald Wills of Kinderhook, Sheryl and Timothy Kline of North Chatham and Jeffrey and Patti Smith of Valatie. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Tyler, Chris and Evan Wills, Joshua, Sean, Scott and Kyle Kline, and Jessica (Craig) Richard and Jenna Smith, and ten great grandchildren, and many long-time friends and extended family members.

Loraine was a devout, loving wife, mother and grandmother and a friend to all she encountered. She was the cement that held the entire family together through their good times and bad. She loved to travel and was able to travel the world in her retirement years with Art, family and friends. She was especially fond of Cape Cod.

Her legacy and memory will last far beyond, to all the people that she touched by her friendship, thoughtfulness, humor and love.

A memorial service and celebration of life in honor of her memory will be held at Bates & Anderson-Redmond & Keeler Funeral Home on Green Street in Hudson, NY on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow immediately after the service at Cedar Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her honor to St. Jude's Children's Hospital Memphis TN.
